Jean Tigana: Norwich more important

Fulham manager Jean Tigana was understandably disappointed at being knocked out of the Cup, but said his side must concentrate on gaining promotion to the Premiership.

"It's normal to be disappointed when you lose a few minutes from the end," said the former French international.

"When you play very well it's important to keep the ball, but we didn't and this was disappointing.

"We played very well but the FA Cup is now past. So the next game is more important now because Fulham must play at the top level next season."

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson paid tribute to Fulham after they gave the Premiership champions an FA Cup fright at Craven Cottage.

The First Division leaders matched United all the way until Teddy Sheringham's last minute winner for the visitors.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had put United ahead after only nine minutes, before Fabrice Fernandes levelled with a superbly taken free kick.

"They've got a great self belief and they certainly weren't overawed by any manner of means," said Ferguson.

"They contested well for the ball in midfield and their service to the front two players was excellent.

"I'm sure they've probably played better than that this season just as we have, but it was that type of match, it was very gripping. They can certainly do well in the Premiership."

Ferguson praised fit-again striker Sheringham for his fine goal in the 89th minute, just 15 minutes after replacing Dwight Yorke.

After great work from fellow substitute Luke Chadwick on the right, Sheringham fired an unstoppable drive into the bottom right corner of Maik Taylor's goal.

"With ten minutes to go we would have settled for a replay but Teddy's goal was just fantastic. He's back."
