Stevenage Road Former Fulham coach Jean Tigana has flown out of China after a three-day visit to survey prospective new employers Shanghai Shenhua.

The 56-year-old former France international, who has not had a coaching role since leaving Bordeaux in May, told the Chinese media during his visit he was seriously considering taking up the post at Shenhua.

"I am not coming for a holiday, I'm here to survey the city of Shanghai and its club Shanghai Shenhua. Time is tight, only three days. I would go back to France on Monday," he said, according to Sina Sports.

"If you see me again in China, it means I would be the new coach of this club."

Tigana also offered advice to Shenhua about improving the club's facilities.

Shenhua, who finished the 2011 season in 11th, were last week linked with a move for Chelsea's French striker Nicolas Anelka.
