Fulham midfielder John Collins, missing for the last two months with hamstring trouble was delighted to have successfuly completed 45 minutes of reserve team football on Tuesday at Motspur Park.
The former Scottish International said:
"I felt fine and touch-wood, there was no reaction whatsoever.
"I've been chomping at the bit to get back playing again and cannot wait to get back into the side."
Collins was substituted at half-time in Fulham's 5-1 victory over Oxford United and looked sharp enough to fit straight back into the first team.
The midfielder had initially aimed to be back in time for Fulham's home game against Nottingham Forest on February 17th but with Tuesday's action under his belt a return at the weekend against Barnsley cannot be ruled out.
Striker Barry Hayles is also nearing fitness and his return will add strength to an already formidable looking Fulham strike force.
Jean Tigana already has Louis Saha, Luis Boa Morte, Karl Heinz Riedle and Peter Moller to choose from.
