Fulham's pre-season preparations have
been given a further boost with the news that influential midfielder Lee
Clark signed a four-year extensions to his contract.
Clark is determined to make his mark on his return to the Premiership
with the West London side, who have just signed Jon Harley, van der Sar,
Abdeslam Ouaddou and Steed Malbranque.
He has committed his future to Fulham until at least the end of the 2004-2005
season, with boss Jean Tigana intent on keeping the backbone of his First
Division promotion side together while also adding new faces.
Clark, the 28-year-old former Sunderland and Newcastle midfielder, declared,
"I'm delighted to have reached an agreement that secures my future
at Fulham.
"We had fantastic success last season and I'm very pleased to be
back in the Premiership again. I'm enjoying my football here and the manager
has great ambitions for the team."
Clark, who signed for Fulham from Sunderland in July 1999 for £3million
and has since made more than 100 appearances for the club, added: ``Extending
my contract was a natural choice for me.''
