Lee Clark aiming for 106 points

Fulham midfielder Lee Clark, who has already won promotion with Newcastle and Sunderland, celebrated clinching promotion to the Premiership following the 2-1 win at Huddersfield.

Clark admitted he was looking forward to Monday's game against Sheffield Wednesday when one point will be enough to seal the championship as well.

"I know we need only one point from our last five games but I have got my eye on the record of 105 points which I managed to set with Sunderland in 1997.

"The Fulham side compares favourably with both my previous clubs - one common theme is the strength of the squad and the strike-force.

"All credit to Huddersfield because although they are near the bottom they made us play to our maximum.

"We had to get balls in behind them more and more during the second half and it was a tremendous finish from Luis Boa Morte that won it for us. "

He added: "The fans were tremendous and it was a terrific feeling in the dressing room to know that we will be mixing it with the top clubs next season.

"Knowing what this club is like we will not be going into the Premiership just to make up the numbers, but to compete fully."

Clark added that there would be no celebrations tonight as the team were likely to be in training tomorrow ahead of Monday's game against Wednesday.

Fulham owner, Harrods boss Mohamed al-Fayed was not at the McAlpine Stadium but has promised to bankroll Fulham to Premiership success.

Huddersfield manager Lou Macari must feel like he is shopping in Woolworths by comparison.

He admitted Fulham were an exceptional side but they felt hard done by after conceding a late winning goal.

"Nico Vaesen is very disappointed because, just when we needed to keep our cool, he raced out to the edge of the area when he didn't need to.

"But having said that he has kept us in other games this season.

"To get back to 1-1 against the best team in the league was quite an achievement but we are now running out of games to escape the relegation zone.
