Fulham defender Andy Melville |
Fulham and Wales International defender Andy Melville has agreed a one-year contract extension with the Cottagers.
The 34-year-old Fulham captain was unhappy with an offer earlier this year that involved a substantial pay cut, prompting rumours of a possible move to Cardiff City.
But the centre back was keen to continue playing at the highest level as he bids to make Euro 2004 with Wales.
Fulham Manager Chris Coleman said "Melv is coming in next Tuesday to sign for another year which I'm delighted about.
"He's a real unsung hero in the team and we miss him when he's not there.
"He's such a professional and his experience and positional sense is second to none - I'm really chuffed we've agreed terms to keep him here."
