Man City retained their top spot in the Premiership with an easy win over relegation zone Blackburn.

While Man Utd were able to keep up with City with a last minute goal from Ryan Giggs giving them victory at Norwich.

Third placed Tottenham were annihilated at Arsenal 5-2 despite going into an early 2-0 lead. Theo Walcott scored two goals in an outstanding Arsenal performance which saw them leapfrog Chelsea into 4th place in the league.

Chelsea eased the pressure on Andre Villas-Boas with a 3-0 win over Bolton who are deep in relegation trouble.

Newcastle were held to a 2-2 draw by fighting Wolves glad of an away point in their struggles under new manager Terry Connor.

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes had a miserable afternoon against old club Fulham who ran out 1-0 winners with a goal from their new Russian striker Pogrebnyak.

That gave Fulham notoriously unsuccessful away from the Cottage their second win on the road this season.

West Brom secured a surprisingly easy victory at home to Sunderland and it seems Roy Hodgson has worked his magic again with West Brom on 33 points and 12 games to go.

Aston Villa drew 0-0, away at bottom of the league Wigan, and with 29 points are still not certain of avoiding relegation. Villa have also lost Darren Bent for the rest of the season.













Andre Villas-Boas has deflected talk about his future this week by staying focused on Chelsea's pursuit of a top-four finish, and the Blues moved into the final UEFA Champions League qualification spot by defeating Bolton 3-0.

David Luiz, often praised more for his attacking attributes than defensive qualities, fired Chelsea in front with a fine strike on 48 minutes after a frustrating stalemate in the first half.

Didier Drogba added a second with a header from a corner just before the hour mark, and Frank Lampard tucked home a third in the 79th minute to leave the Trotters deep in relegation trouble.

Wolves have spent the past fortnight searching for a new manager but the man given the reins, Connor, proved his credentials by masterminding a second-half turnaround to draw 2-2 with Newcastle at St James' Park.

January signing Papiss Cisse further endeared himself to the Newcastle faithful with the opening goal after just six minutes, providing a clever finishing touch to Cheick Tiote's wayward shot following a mistake by Christophe Berra.

Jonas Gutierrez then blasted an unstoppable second into the top corner on 18 minutes, before Wolves reduced their arrears early in the second half thanks to a deflected Matt Jarvis effort.

Fulham took the West London bragging rights following a 1-0 victory over 10-man Queens Park Rangers that keeps Hughes' side firmly in the mire.

Fulham had already had a goal disallowed for offside by the time Pavel Pogrebnyak did make it 1-0 inside seven minutes, with the Russian striker latching on to a delightful Moussa Dembele back-heel to round Paddy Kenny and continue his fine introduction to the Premier League.

While Pogrebnyak has made a positive impact, Samba Diakite was sent off 33 minutes into a disastrous QPR debut after being given a second yellow card following a string of fouls in midfield.

QPR battled hard from that point on in an effort to get back into the game, but could not find a leveller and are now just a point off the bottom.

West Brom improved their disappointing home record with a crushing 4-0 success against Sunderland at The Hawthorns.

Fresh from scoring a hat-trick in the Black Country derby, it took Peter Odemwingie just three minutes to break the deadlock with a glancing header past Simon Mignolet from Youssouf Mulumbu's left-wing cross.

James Morrison nodded in a second for the Baggies before half-time from Jerome Thomas' deep delivery, and Odemwingie made it 3-0 at the start of the second period following a fast break that was launched by a Ben Foster throw.

Keith Andrews curled in a fourth to catapult West Brom further away from danger and remind Martin O'Neill that he still has a lot of work to do with the Black Cats.

A serious-looking injury to Aston Villa striker Darren Bent overshadowed an uninspiring goalless draw against Wigan at the DW Stadium.

There was little goalmouth action in either half and the main talking point occurred towards the end when Bent had to be stretchered off with an ankle problem, which could be a major blow for England as well as Villa.

Mario Balotelli returned to domestic action after suspension to help Manchester City cruise past struggling Blackburn 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium and open up a five-point lead at the top of the table, with Manchester United not in action until Sunday.

Arsenal produced a superb fightback to come from 2-0 down and hammer Tottenham 5-2 at Emirates Stadium in a pulsating North London derby.

It looked like the day would belong to Spurs when Louis Saha's deflected effort after just four minutes put them in front.

Emmanuel Adebayor then scored from the penalty spot against his old club after the referee ruled that Gareth Bale had been brought down by Wojciech Szczesny.

However, Arsenal responded in inspired fashion, with Bacary Sagna powering home a header to reduce their arrears and Robin van Persie curling in a sumptuous equaliser before half-time.

The remarkably open pattern of play continued and it was not long until Tomas Rosicky fired Arsenal ahead from close range.

Theo Walcott added a fourth following a fabulous break in the 65th minute, and another fine finish from the winger three minutes later sent the crowd wild with excitement.

Ryan Giggs marked his 900th appearance for Manchester United with a stoppage-time winner as valiant Norwich City were beaten 2-1 at Carrow Road.

Giggs, 38, who scored against the Canaries in the top flight 19 years ago, did it again, this time with a dramatic stoppage-time goal to leave City heartbroken.

Manchester United were ahead at the break thanks to Paul Scholes' second goal since his return from retirement.

The midfielder finished off a well-worked move in the seventh minute, heading home Nani's right-wing cross from six-yards.

Grant Holt restored parity with seven minutes remaining, turning well before lashing his effort into the far corner from 12 yards.

But United poured forward in added time and were eventually rewarded when Giggs stabbed home Ashley Young's fine cross at the back post to put the Red Devils back within two points of leaders Manchester City.

First-half goals from Matthew Upson and Peter Crouch gave Stoke the foundation for them to go and earn what turned about to be a comfortable win in the end.
