Fulham striker Andy Johnson has backed his in-form Fulham team-mate Bobby Zamora to make a push for England's World Cup squad.
Zamora only scored four goals for the Cottagers last season following his big money switch from West Ham.
But he has already netted ten times for Roy Hodgson's side so far this term, leading Johnson to believe he can make a push for the World Cup finals.
Johnson said: "I can definitely see Bobby Zamora playing for England. Fabio Capello has always said he picks players in form.
"In the role that Bobby performs, there's no one in better form at the moment.
"There are two others players fighting for that place which is Emile Heskey and Peter Crouch.
"Bobby is the third one, so there are three people fighting for that spot.
"If he continues doing what he's doing - scoring and playing the way he does - he has a great chance of making it."
Zamora let out an emotional outburst after he scored the winner against Sunderland at Craven Cottage in December after criticism of his form.
Johnson added: "Bobby has been fantastic. He's taken a lot of stick but I don't think people really saw what he gave to the team before he was scoring.
"Now that he is scoring, people are starting to realise that maybe they were too harsh on him.
"Bobby has always been confident in his ability and is a top, top player.
"He's one of the most technical players at our club and that's shining through now. I'm happy to see him scoring."
Johnson is expected to make his first start since early October in Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie against Swindon.
He can not wait to return after shoulder and groin injuries have restricted him to just 10 appearances and three goals this season.
He added: "I'm delighted Bobby's scoring goals and the team has been playing well - it just makes me more excited to get back involved because I want to be part of it.
"It's frustrating seeing the boys play week in week out, it's horrible.
"I was a lot happier when the clock struck midnight on New Year's Eve because bits of the year have been a nightmare.
"This is the longest I've been out injured since I was 17. I don't think I've been out for three months since then.
"I'm fully fit now and am champing at the bit to get going.
"But the team have been fantastic and we've been beating sides and beating them convincingly with some great football."
