Howard Webb begun his career in the Rotherham district and North East Counties Leagues and gained promotion to the National List in 1996.
He was a new addition to the Premiership List for the 2003/04 season after consistent performances in the Nationwide leagues.
Recently appointed as an FIFA official, Ref Webb, has also taken his next steps up the refereeing ladder with his Champions League debut just before taking control of The Charity Shield match between Chelsea and Arsenal, he hopes more international recognition will come soon.
Ref Webb said "I've never experienced any violence as a referee but then being 6'3"
and 15 1/2 stone probably helps! "
Mr Webb's first game in the Premiership was Fulham's home game against Wolves back in October 2004 and after the game he was rated unfit by 60% of voters. Since that game an improving Mr Webb has reffed Fulham in 11 Premiership games and we have won 3, drawn 2 and lost 6. As the man from Rotherham was the ref for our victory over Arsenal and our draw at Stamford Bridge he has some saving graces.
In the 11 games there have been 34 yellows, 18 for Fulham players, and two reds both
for opposition players.

Ref Webb likes to whistle a little more than average.Mr Webb awarded 10 penalties last season following 3 penalty decisions for the whole of the previous season. That made him 5th busiest penalty giver, this season after 19 games he is relaxing up and is now only the 9th busiest.
Red cards are not a big thing for Mr Webb, there have been none so far this season
