Rufus
Brevett waiting for a contract |
|
Rufus Brevett is hoping to advance his case
for a new contract at Fulham with a good performance against his former
club Queens Park Rangers at Craven Cottage tomorrow.
The full-back thinks he has done enough to figure in manager Jean Tigana's
long-term plans but his deal runs out in the summer and renewal talks
have not yet started.
Brevett, 30, has enjoyed his football this season and has benefited from
the Frenchman's training techniques. He has played consistently well,
too, but is waiting patiently for the club to approach him about his future.
He said: "I would like to stay but I still have not had talks. I think
I have had quite a good season and I have faith in my ability. "Hopefully
I will get it sorted when the time is right but I have an open mind and
you never know what will happen in football."
Brevett has played more than 130 games for Fulham since making the short
journey across west London from Rangers for £375,000 three years ago.
