. Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer was beaming with pride as he spoke of his first season with the Cottagers.

After 11 years with Middlesbrough, Mark Schwarzer left Teesside to head south for Fulham last summer and he has spoken of his delight at the result.

"It is probably one of the most enjoyable [seasons], the most satisfying overall," the Australian shot-stopper said.

"It is nice to move on and prove yourself all over again. You can't take anything for granted whatsoever. For me, it has been very rewarding and very refreshing to make the move. I am delighted with the way it has panned out."

Schwarzer has won many plaudits over the years but produced a string of excellent performances this year to play a key role in Fulham's rise to 7th and a European spot.

The 36-year-old also thought back to his time at the Riverside, commenting that "when you have been at one club for such a long period of time you become part of the furniture."

At Fulham, a reinvigorated Schwarzer will now be looking to continue his impressive performances under Roy Hodgson as Fulham look to the Europa League.
