Spurs have been dealt a major blow with the news that midfielder Sean Davis faces a further month on the sidelines.
Davis has suffered a recurrence of the knee injury that troubled him earlier in the campaign.
The £3 million capture from Fulham is now reported to need surgery to resolve the cartilage problem, and looks set for an extended lay-off.
Davis had started Spurs' last two games after returning from the injury, but broke down with the problem earlier in the week.
He was sent for scans on Tuesday to assess the full extent of the damage, and it has now been decided that he will need an operation to cure the complaint.
