ENGLAND Under-21 boss David Platt has named a 24-man squad for the two-legged
European Championship play-off with Holland next week and it includes Sean Davis.
Fulham's young midfield dynamo Sean Davis will be pleased to have been selected
once again for the U21 squad. Sean had to withdraw from the last European
Championship qualifier with Greece due to an injured foot sustained in the
1-1 draw against neighbours Chelsea.
David Platt is also able to call upon the experience of West Ham's Michael
Carrick, who has been prominent in most Sven Goran Eriksson's full England
squads recently, and European Cup winner Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich.
Platt's young Lions will be looking for a repeat of their 4-0 win against
the Dutch back in August.
However, Platt must make do without Derby defender Chris Riggott, who
was forced to pull out of the squad with a groin injury.
Full squad:
Chris Kirkland (Liverpool), Paul Robinson (Leeds), Stuart Taylor (Arsenal)
Gareth Barry (Aston Villa), Wayne Bridge (Southampton), Ledley King (Spurs),
John Terry (Chelsea), Stephen Wright (Liverpool), Luke Young (Charlton)

Davis (Fulham), David Dunn (Blackburn), Jonathan Greening (Middlesbrough),
Owen Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Seth Johnson (Leeds), Scott Parker (Charlton),
Jermaine Pennent (Arsenal), David Prutton (Notts Forest), Mark Wilson
(Middlesbrough) Shola Ameobi (Newcastle), Malcolm Christie (Derby), Jermaine
Defoe (West Ham), Darius Vassell (Aston Villa)
