Fulham midfielder Sean Davis has signed a
new four-year contract at the Club that keeps him at Craven Cottage until
at least the summer of 2005.
The England U21 midfielder, rated in the £10 million bracket by many
observers, signed a long-term agreement with the Club on Tuesday afternoon
and cited Jean Tigana and Christian Damiano as the main reasons why he decided
to dedicate his long-term future to Fulham.
Davis said:
“I’m glad everything has been sorted out. I’ve signed for
four years and hopefully in that time we can win the Premiership.
“Everything has gone well, but now we have to push on. I want to improve
as a player so Jean and Christian played a big part in my signing.
“I can’t wait to get back to training now and hopefully we can
start the new season with a home win against Chelsea for our fans.”
The Club's Managing Director Michael Fiddy commented:
“We are delighted to have agreed a deal with Sean for the next 4 years,
he is an integral part of today’s squad and is constantly improving
as a player. Sean’s dedication to Fulham from his early playing days
is a testimony to both the Club’s Academy system and to Sean’s
talents and we look forward to seeing him reach his full potential in the
Premiership.”
