Steve Sidwell looks set to complete his transfer from Aston Villa to Fulham in the next few days after turning down an offer from West Ham United.

The former Reading and Chelsea midfielder has been told he has no future at Aston Villa, as Martin O'Neill looks to offload some squad players in order to fund a bid for Tottenham's Robbie Keane.

The 27-year-old made just 12 Premier League starts under manager Martin O'Neill last season

The former Reading and Chelsea goal scoring midfielder is desperate to get his career up and running again and is keen to join last season's Europa League finalists.

Fulham and West Ham both matched Villa's asking price of £2 million for Sidwell, leaving the 27-year-old with the final say about his future.

It is believed he has told the Hammers he has decided to join the Europa League finalists, having agreed the terms of a three-year contract at Craven Cottage.
