Fulham manager Martin Jol insists the only player who could leave the club in the January transfer window is Stephen Kelly, who is close to joining Reading.
Jol expects "one or two players" to arrive at Craven Cottage but hopes Kelly, who underwent a medical on Friday, will be the sole departure.
"There is not one single player who could go in this transfer window, the only player is Stephen Kelly," he said.
"Players I want to keep here will be here after 31 January."
Fulham finished ninth in the Premier League last season but sold midfielder Moussa Dembele and forward Clint Dempsey to Tottenham in the summer.
Jol brought in Dimitar Berbatov, Hugo Rodallega, Mladen Petric and Kieran Richardson, but his side sit 13th and six points above the relegation zone.
"We are very close [to making signings] but there are so many other teams involved," said the Dutchman. "If you want a good player other teams try to jump on it, so you have to be very inventive and we don't have a lot to spend.
"We try to get one or two players in to strengthen the squad."
Jol ruled out a move for Jake Livermore - "He went to QPR," he said - but is interested in signing another Tottenham midfielder in Tom Huddlestone.
"If Tom is fit he is always in the back of my mind," Jol explained. "I can't say that Tom is not on my list because I like him."
Kelly joined Fulham on a free transfer from Birmingham in 2009 and has made 71 appearances for the Cottagers.
He is set to become Reading boss Brian McDermott's third January signing after the arrivals of midfielder Hope Akpan and defender Daniel Carrico.
"Stephen went to Reading for a medical," Jol added. "I thought it was good for him because he wanted to play and played almost all the games last year.
"They decided to take him and he decided to go."
