Stephen Kelly believes Fulham's performance against west London rivals Chelsea was a true reflection of their capabilities.
The Cottagers suffered an embarrassing 5-0 home defeat to Manchester United last week but responded well to secure a hard-fought point at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.
Irish full-back Kelly played in both matches and admits it was a relief to put in a performance after their thrashing by Sir Alex Ferguson's side.
"We were very happy on Monday because we needed to give a good result to the fans," Kelly said
"To go to Stamford Bridge is never easy but to come away with a draw is a great boost and shows us what we're capable of.
"I thought we got forward well and defended well against Chelsea.
"We were resilient and at times we showed glimpses of really good attacking football.
"The manager set up the team that put the onus on them rather than us sitting back.
"We caused Chelsea a lot of problems and that's what the intent was and it worked out well.
"Everybody was very happy with the performance and hopefully we can build on that when we go to Norwich on Saturday."
The trip to Carrow Road comes during a difficult run of matches for Fulham, but Kelly is confident of securing a result in East Anglia.
"Norwich are a very good side and their home record this year has been fantastic, especially against the teams in and around them in the league," Kelly added.
"If we can put in the same level of performance we did at Chelsea then there's no reason why we can't go there and get a result, but we know what they're capable of, so we need to be resilient.
"If we were to end 2011 back in the top 10 that would be a great position to be in and it kind of sets you up for the rest of the season.
"That's where we want to be at the end of the season and we're a team that is capable of that."
