Fulham defender Stephen Kelly has admitted he may be forced to leave Fulham in a bid to secure regular football next season.

Kelly, 27, featured in only 12 games for the club in all competitions this term and, with the Londoners likely to strengthen their squad ahead of a Europa League campaign, Kelly admits he may have to look elsewhere to get opportunities to play.

"Obviously I want to play football and I want to play all the time," he said. "That's got to be my main aim and if that's at Fuham then that's great but if it's somewhere else then so be it.

"At his moment in time I'm still a Fulham player and that's where my focus is. We're in Europe next year and there's going to be a lot of games so I'll be looking forward to taking part in that."

Fulham earned themselves a Europa League spot after qualifying through the Fair Play League. The Cottagers finished ahead of relegated Blackpool by just 0.01 points and, with Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester United already qualifying for Europe, they grabbed the Europa place.

Kelly, who played in Ireland's 1-0 win over Scotland at the weekend, is not enamoured by the prospect of only having a 15-day break due to the club's involvement in the Europa League.

"It's going to be difficult; the schedule for us to be back is in the 23rd June, with our first game scheduled for the 30th June. That means we don't break up until the 8th so it's not much time off but hopefully I'll get some special treatment because we've had eight games running. It's not going to be much time off at all, straight back into qualifying for the Europa League," he said.
