Fulham striker Eddie Johnson's World Cup dream is in tatters after he was put up for sale.
The American striker hoped to face England in the group stage at next year's finals.
But Johnson, who has won 39 caps and scored 12 goals for his country, has been frozen out by Craven Cottage boss Roy Hodgson.
The decision to put him on the transfer list will damage his chances of keeping his place for the finals in South Africa.
The hitman cost Fulham £3million from Kansas City in January 2008.
However, the club are willing to take a £2m hit to ease their wage bill.
It is a blow to the forward, 25, who had hoped to earn a spot in the side following a loan spell at Cardiff last season.
Seol Ki-Hyeon, Fredrik Stoor, Toni Kallio and David Elm have also been told they can move in the January transfer window.
