MORITZ VOLZ has at last fulfilled a lifelong dream — by getting inside the swimsuit of a Baywatch star.

But, incredibly, it has nothing to do with Pamela Anderson.

Madcap Volz was his hairy hero David Hasselhoff for a day. SunSport revealed on August 1 how Fulham’s quirky German full- back is obsessed with the ageing Hollywood hunk.

And oddball Volz, 23, admits: “To meet The Hoff would be the ultimate for me.

“Firstly, I’d thank him just for being there for us. And, secondly, I’d apologise for the behaviour of the tennis officials, who allegedly threw him out of Wimbledon this summer.

“They said he was drunk but I don’t believe that. He was simply having a good time.

“People laughed when he tried to claim that Baywatch had played a part in bringing peace to the world — but I think he had a point.

“And I also understand why he was miffed not to get any acknowledgement for his role in the reunification of Germany.

“After all, it was his songs which provided the inspiration for it to happen — they became the theme tune as Germany became one again.

“Just listen to my favourite Hoff tune — I’m Looking for Freedom — and you’ll see what I mean. That was the first piece of music I bought.

“I was looking for it on the internet the other day and stumbled across him singing Christmas carols. They went straight on the iPod!”

Hasselhoff, who also starred in the 80s action series Knight Rider, has now become a cult hero among other players and staff at Craven Cottage.

Volz even reckons Fulham’s big-haired goalkeeping coach Dave Beasant is a dead ringer for his idol.

And he told today's FourFourTwo mag: “A greater compliment Bess could not have.”
