The air of uncertainty surrounding Fulham’s signing of Kagisho Dikgacoi has been cleared up.

While the player’s manager, Machini Motloung, had confirmed the signing and his agent Mike Makaab doing the same on radio, the club’s website has not done so.

Yesterday the Cottagers’ fans began questioning whether the deal had in fact been done, and Fulham officials have now enlightened them on the situation.

It would appear that a fee has been agreed with Golden Arrows, but Fulham are awaiting a tribunal decision before a work permit can be obtained, ahead of their Europa League game.

“We reached an agreement with the club, but it will have to go to a tribunal because we have to apply for a work permit.

“We're talking about a guy who has played the last 17 matches for South Africa, who’s a very key figure in their World Cup team coming up.

“It would be a bit strong to say he’s been on trial here. He came over once before, and we liked him, but he was really unfit, and this time he wanted to show us ‘this is what I really am like’. But it was less of a trial because we knew the player,” the statement on the fans’ website records.

According to details released in South Africa Dikgacoi has agreed to a two-year contract, with a one-year renewal option, with the English Premiership club.

“Kagisho is now looking forward to starting a new life in England after the Bafana Bafana game against Serbia next week,” Makaab said.

Speaking to KickOff.com after receiving the good news from Makaab in England, Dikgacoi could not hide his excitement of prospect of playing in the Barclays Premiership this season.

“I am over the moon with excitement. I want to thank everybody who contributed lot in my soccer career including Arrows. I am not sure about when I leave for England but it will probably next week Friday after our game against Serbia in Pretoria on Wednesday,” he said
