Former Fulham striker Bobby Zamora is facing three months on the sidelines as he is to undergo a hip operation.
Zamora, 31, was absent from the squad that lost 3-1 in the Premier League against Southampton last Saturday - a result which ramped up the pressure on his manager Mark Hughes.
The striker is now set for a spell on the sidelines after a club statement said he is to undergo "exploratory operation following a recent hip injury sustained in training."
Zamora signed for QPR from Fulham for £6 million in January and has since scored five league goals in 24 appearances.
His club QPR are currently bottom of the table following a winless start to the season.
