Fulham midfielder Zoltan Gera's agent has revealed that the winger has turned down a recent new contract offer from Fulham boss Mark Hughes.

Gera, 31, will leave in the summer when his current deal expires, after slipping out of the first-team contention when Hughes replaced Roy Hodgson as manager last summer.

But the Hungary international was offered a new deal, despite Damien Duff and Clint Dempsey being preferred in the wide roles at Craven Cottage, according to Gera's representative Vladan Filipovic.

"I am surprised about Mark Hughes's decision. In recent weeks the management of Fulham tried to convince us to sign a new contract,'' Filipovic said.

''We didn't sign it, because we have already knew in January that Gera will leave.

"Three years ago, when Zoli signed with Fulham, he said he wanted to stay in England, but now he doesn't rule out going to another country.

He wants to play in a team which figures in a European cup. We don't rule out it will be an English team, but we have other options."
