Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock wants to sign Fulham keeper Marcus Bettinelli to solve his number one problem.
Warnock is close to agreement on a loan for the former England under-21 prospect who is out of favour at Craven Cottage.
Ben Amos has had some nightmare displays lately and Warnock is keen to replace him when the window opens.
Bettinelli is on big wages but Cardiff will pick them up to make him their new first choice.
The Camberwell-born keeper joined the Whites in 2011 and was then farmed out to non-league Dartford on loan.
After a season in the Conference he went on to make 39 appearances in the 2013-14 season during two stints on loan at League Two in Accrington.
In November of the following 2014-15 campaign at Fulham he made his England Under-21 debut against the Czech Republic in Prague.
