Chairman
Al Fayed keeps the dream alive |

The Chairman, Mohamed Al Fayed, stated:
“Today is momentous day in the history of Fulham Football Club and I am
truly delighted for all of the management, players, staff and fans of the
Club who have worked so hard in securing this decision. Fulham F.C has a
fantastic future ahead of it and the decision today is a great landmark
that secures the destiny of our football club. We are a proud club that
cares about its constituents that make up a community and give that community
its identity. Fulham Football Club has been situated on its current site
for over 100 years and now, at last, it has been given the chance to begin
the next century of occupation on the banks of the Thames.”
Jean Tigana, the Club’s Team Manager stated:
“ It is fantastic news. Great facilities are part of my vision for Fulham
Football Club and the new stadium is vital for our future. I want my Fulham
team to attract the best players and to play in Europe and a new Stadium
is important for both of these.”
Michael Fiddy, the Club’s Managing Director, stated:
“The football club is absolutely delighted at today’s decision from Government
of London Office, which confirms that the Club can remain at its home of
over 100 years. The Club worked tirelessly to ensure that the application
dealt with all the relevant issues to enable firstly the Council and subsequently
GoL to support its application. Therefore we believe that today’s decision
is the right one both for the football club and for the community that it
works within.
