Referee David Coote started refereeing as a sixteen year-old. He refereed in the Notts Alliance League, the Northern Counties East Football League, the Northern Premier League and the Conference North before being promoted to the Football League.
A talented cricketer David played cricket for Notts at various youth age groups, before committing to his refereeing career.
He was promoted to the list of Football League referees in 2010 and to the Select Group 2 of Football Referees, employed on a full time basis, in the summer of 2016. In the summer of 2018 Mr Coote was promoted to the Select Group 1 of Premier League referees.
The last time Mr Coote bossed a Fulham game was in March 2019 when we were beaten 3-1 at Leicester City. Mr Coote booked two players both from Fulham, Babel (55,f), Bryan (60,f).
Prior to the Leicester game in March Mr Coote bossed the December 2018 game when we drew at home against Leicester City. Ref Coote kept his cards in his pocket.
Earlier in the season Mr Coote visited Craven Cottage when we beat Burnley 4-2. He booked three players, two from Fulham, Shurrle (59,f), Bettinelli (90+1,tw).
Mr Coote has been reasonably lucky for Fulham overseeing more Fulham victories than draws and defeats.
AFC Bournemouth were last bossed by Ref Coote in their 3-3 home draw with Watford in January 2019, he booked five players just one of them from Bournemouth.
Last season, 2017/2018, he reffed 37 games, dished out 151 yellows, an above average 4.1 yellows per game and an average 5 reds. This season, 2018/2019, so far he has refed 28 games and shown 103 yellows, an average of 3.7 per game, and 6 reds.

Earlier in October in the 1-0 win by Colchester against Lincoln he booked NINE players, five from Lincoln.
