Fulham defender Denis Odoi has recovered after he was given oxygen and stretchered off the pitch following a collision with team-mate Maxime Le Merchand during the 1-0 win over Cardiff.

Odoi stooped low to stop Cardiff's Oumar Niasse getting a chance on goal but was struck in the upper body by Le Marchand as he attempted a clearance with the game still goalless in the 21st minute.

He was knocked out cold and briefly regained consciousness before losing it again and being stretchered off the pitch at Craven Cottage.

Play was delayed for a total of eight minutes with Cyrus Christie coming on to replace Odoi as a substitute.

Fulham boss Scott Parker confirmed after the game that Odoi was knocked unconscious by Le Marchand's boot, but recovered after treatment, and did not need to go to hospital.

Parker said: "He was out cold for four or five seconds and with concussion protocol I don't know whether his season is done, but he's all good."
