Fulham manager Marco Silva is a fan of the work being done down at Brighton & Hove Albion.

There are similarities between the sides ahead of Saturday’s meeting at the Amex Stadium, with just a point separating us in the Premier League, and both teams in the FA Cup Quarter-Finals.

“Very, very good side, very difficult to play against, in my opinion,” Silva said in his pre-match press conference.

“Their individual quality, with always two different midfielders, many solutions for that position, more [Carlos] Baleba of course there, but the other they rotate, and the other midfielder is always a player with top quality as well.

“And in the attack line, doesn't matter who is going to start, they have always top quality as well.

“The right maturity at the back, and a goalkeeper that has the ability to be another fifth player, because the way he plays, always to build up their attacks, is really good, too.

“And it's going to be, in my opinion, a very good game. Tough game for us, definitely, but we are confident.

“We are confident we can get the result, and clearly our ambition is to go there and to match Brighton, and to play the game to get the three points.”

Fulham have never lost a Premier League match to Brighton, winning four of our five games against them under Silva.

But the Seagulls have been flying of late, reacting superbly to their shock 7-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest with five consecutive wins in all competitions.

When asked if our head-to-head record can work in our favour, Marco replied: “It gives us confidence, definitely. But all those games were really difficult because they are a really good side.

“They always create a lot of problems, a really offensive side that’s always playing with two strikers, the wide players are really quick, and it’s always difficult to play against them.

“They have been on an incredible run of results as well after the heavy defeat against Forest, they reacted really well.

“Our away form has been top as well so far, and it’s going to be a really good game, in my opinion.

“Okay, it’s always good when you have a very good record, the reality is that it gives us and our fans the confidence that we can repeat again, and let’s hope we can get a good result.”
