Jean Tigana was delighted to be within
touching distance of the First Division championship after Fulham's win
over Blackburn at Ewood Park.
The Cottagers stunned the second placed side with a last minute winner
from Sean Davis, despite falling behind to an early Matt Jansen goal and
then having Rufus Brevett sent off late in the first half.
Afterwards Tigana told Sky Sports: "I'm very happy. We worked very hard,
it was difficult for the players to come back and win the game, but they
had big motivation.
"I want to win the championship but the priority is to win promotion first.
We have a good record in the big games."
Fulham defender Kit Symons was proud of the way the Cottagers had defended
despite being a man short for the whole of the second half. The Welsh
international said: "Obviously we were under a lot of pressure but we
soaked it up very well. "We got bodies behind the ball, dug in and passed
the ball very well. We worked very hard but then there is a great work
ethic at the club. "They had an awful lot of the ball but I think we soaked
it up very well."
