Fulham Manager Martin Jol plans to loan out young keeper Neil Etheridge once Maarten Stekelenburg returns to fitness.

Fulham's number one suffered a shoulder injury on his debut in Saturday's victory at Sunderland following a tangle with Black Cats striker Jozy Altidore.

Stekelenburg was replaced by David Stockdale, who has been struggling himself with a thumb problem.

Third-choice keeper Etheridge has made just one first-team appearance for the Whites, but featured 12 times for League Two Bristol Rovers last campaign.

And boss Jol wants to send out the Philippines international once Stekelenburg is fit.

He said: "We can't put anyone on loan at the moment, but maybe that will change. Neil could go to a lower league club."
