Fulham have yet to make a splash in the transfer market this month but Manager Kit Symons is looking to bring the "right characters" to the club.

He said: "We're in discussions with a couple of clubs about a couple of players. It's very early days and the discussions are ongoing.

"We will look to bring good players to this football club. If we can strengthen the squad with the right characters then I will always look to do it.

"The chairman is very supportive and understanding of that and he's keen for that to happen if we can get the right people at the right price."

Fulham face Reading on Saturday having slugged it out for 120 minutes against Wolves in the FA Cup on Tuesday.

The Cottagers overcame snowy conditions to win a penalty shootout at Molineux and book their place in the fourth round but Symons reckons his players are fit and ready for the Championship clash against the Royals.

He said: "It was an interesting evening in interesting conditions and we we're really pleased with the result and the performance.

"The boys have come back and recovered well so we're looking good going into tomorrow's game."

Fulham lost 3-0 to Reading in the reverse fixture at the Madejski Stadium back in September.
