Andre Marriner began refereeing in 1992, by chance when he was asked to cover for a referee who did not turn up for a local match, and he progressed via the Birmingham Amateur Football League and the Southern Football League to become a Football League assistant referee in 2000.

Mr Marriner was a Football League assistant referee for three years before being promoted to the position of referee in 2003. He was promoted to the Select Group of professional referees in 2005 and In December 2008 it was announced that Marriner, at the age of 37 would be invited to join FIFA's list of international referees for 2009

The last time Mr Marriner refed a Fulham game was during the 2013/2014 season in the Premiership. He refed us in four games against Chelsea, Southampton, Swansea in the Premiership, we lost them all, and Sheffield United in the FA Cup which was a draw.

He last refed a Millwall game in February 2017 when they beat Southend 1-0 in League One. He yellow carded four players, one from Millwall, and also sent off a Southend player in the 34th minute.

Last season he refed 39 games and dished out 146 yellows and 7 reds, so a slightly above average 3.7 yellows per game.

So far this season he has dished out 83 yellows and 5 reds in 31 games, so reduced average of 2.7 yellows a game.

His busiest game so far this season was Braga v Hoffenheim in the Europa League when he yellow carded 10 players one of which was then given a second yellow/red in the 90th minute.
