Referee Stuart Attwell, 38 years old, made history as the youngest Premier League referee at 25 years old when he took charge of Blackburn and Hull in August 2008.
Ref Attwell graduated from Staffordshire University in 2004. Refereeing had been a lifelong ambition for him, according to his father. Attwell worked his way up from local games to non-League football, then to the West Midlands League and the Football League.
He was promoted to the Select Group of referees for the 2016/17 season following consistent refereeing displays since being demoted as a National List official in 2012.
Ref Attwell became infamous for, amongst other controversial decisions, the ghost goal for Reading at Watford in 2008 when the ball clearly went wide of the post. He was suspended from the Premier League for two years
He last reffed Fulham in September 2018 in the 3-0 away defeat at Man City . Mr Attwell chose to keep his cards firmly in his pockets.

Last season he refed 27 games and dished out 127 yellows and 5 reds so an above average 4.7 yellows per game.
