Referee Darren England, 31 year-old, has been running the line in the Premier League for several seasons after working his way up from amateur football in Barnsley. He commenced refereeing in the Conference League in March 2014 and moved up into the Football League in August 2015.

He refed his first Championship game in March 2017 and this season is now a regular in the Championship. He joined the Select Group 2 of full-time referees in the summer.

Mr England has only refed one Fulham game before and that was in October 2017 when we drew 2-2 at home to Preston with Denis Odoi scoring the equaliser in the 96th minute. Mr England booked four players, three from Preston and Tom Cairney in the 67th minute for a foul.

He last refed Sheffield Wednesday in February 2019 in their 2-2 away draw with Rotherham. Mr England booked four Rotherham players and two Wednesday players one of which he gave a second yellow in the 90th minute.

This season he has refed 32 games and issued 89 yellows, an average of 2.8 cards a game and 2 reds. Last season Ref England refed 31 games dishing out 119 yellows, an average 3.8 cards a game, and 5 reds.

His busiest games in recent time were Middlesbrough v Huddersfield in December 2019 and Oxford v Portsmouth in July 2020. In both games he dished out 7 yellows.
