Referee Gavin Ward became a referee, in the Conference League, in 2006 and joned the Football League in the following season. He was promoted to the Select Group 2 list of referees ahead of the 2018/19 season after over ten years as an EFL referee in League One and League Two.
He last refed a Fulham game back in August 2017 when we won 2-0 away at Wycombe Wanderers in a League Cup game. Mr Ward booked just one player Cauley Woodrow for dissent in the 32nd minute.
Prior to the Wycombe game Mr Ward last refed Fulham at Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup 3rd round 2016 when we lost 2-1 . He booked Ashley Richards and Cauley Woodrow for fouls.
The only other time Mr Ward refed a Fulham game was in the First round of the League Cup in 2015 when we beat Wycombe 1-0 away at Adams Park. He booked Alexander Kacaniklic and Jamie O'Hara both for fouls
Last season he refed 39 games and dished out 132 yellows and 6 reds, 3.4 yellows per game.
His busiest game last season was the 2-2 draw between Hull and Wigan in September 2019 when he booked 8 players, six of them from the Wigan team.
