Wiltshire FA official referee Simon Hooper began his Football League career as an assistant referee in 2006/07, at the same time he was a referee in non-league football.

Mr Hooper was promoted as a Football League referee the following season and at the start of the 2016/17 season he was promoted to the full time Referee group Select Group 2 and was then promoted to the Select Group of Referees in 2018 allowing him to ref in the Premier League

Mr Hooper last refed a Fulham game in January 2024 in the second leg of the League Cup Semi-Final at Craven Cottage when we drew 1-1 but lost 3-2 on aggregate. He booked one Liverpool player, their keeper for time wasting, and three Fulham players, Issa Diop (f), Tom Cairney (f) and Harry Wilson (dis). Issa Diop scored Fulham's goal.

We had had the pleasure of Mr Hooper's company just three weeks earkier when we won 1-0 at home to Rotherham in the FA Cup. He did not book anyone and Bobby De Cordova-Reid scored Fulham's goal.

Prior to the Rotherham game Mr Hooper refed Fulham in November 2023, when we lost 3-1 away at Aston Villa. He booked two Villa players and five Fulham players, Joao Palhinha, Antonee Robinson, Alex Iwobi, Harrison Reed and Carlos Vinicius. Raul Jimenez was Fulham's goal scorer.

In season 2022/2023 Mr Hooper refed Fulham when we lost 2-1 at home to Man City. Four players were booked, three from Man City and Kenny Tete from Fulham for arguing. Carlos Vinicius was Fulham's goal scorer.

In September 2021 Mr Hooper refed A Fulham game when we drew 1-1 away at Bristol City. He booked four players, three of them were from the Fulham squad Nathaniel Chalobah, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Harrison Reed. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored Fulham's only goal in the 50th minute.

January 2021, in a FA Cup game, when we won 2-0 away at QPR, he issued three yellows all to QPR players. The match went to extra-time during which Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Neeskens Kebano scored the goals in the 104th and 108th minute.

Earlier in the season, 20-21, on the 30th November 2020 Mr Hooper refed our 2-1 away win at Leicester City. He booked two players, both from Fuham, Harrison Reed for a foul and Tosin Adarabioyo for time wasting. Fulham's goal scorers were Ademola Lookman and Ivan Cavaleiro.

four weeks earlier at the beginning of November 2020, Mr Hooper bossed our 2-0 win over West Brom, our first win in the Premiership 20/21. He booked five players including Bobby De Cordova-Reid (55,f), Ademola Lookman (57,f) and Harrison Reed (83,tw). Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Ola Aina scored the goals.

It was a year prior to this that Mr Hooper bossed another Fulham game, in November 2019, when we won 2-1 away at Swansea. He only booked one player Aboubakar Kamara, for a foul in the 32nd minute. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored both goals.

In season 2017/2018 Mr Hooper refed Fulham three times The last time was in March 2018, when we won 2-1 away at Preston. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored both goals in a come back victory and Marcus Bettinelli was yellow carded in the 94th minute for timewasting. One Preston player was booked for a foul.

On Boxing Day 2017, Mr Hooper also refed Fulham when we beat Cardiff 4-2 at Cardiff City Stadium. He booked five players four of them from Fulham despite the foul count being 17 for Cardiff and 11 for Fulham. The goalscorers were Tim Ream, Floyd Ayite, Ryan Sessegnon and Stefan Johansen with Johnsen's goal coming in the 97th minute

Earlier in this season he refed Fulham in the 1-1 away draw at Reading when he yellow carded two Reading players, red carded Tomas Kalas in the first minute of the game for a last-man foul and finished up yellow carding Kamara for a foul in the 94th minute. Lucas Piazon scored the Fulham equaliser in the 82nd minute.

In the previous season, 2016/17, Ref Hooper bossed the Preston game at Craven Cottage in March of 2017, Fulham won 3-1, Mr Hooper yellow carded two Preston players.

He had also refed Fulham's opening game of the season when Fulham beat favourites Newcastle 1-0. Mr Hooper booked four players, one from Fulham, defender Denis Odoi for a foul in the 10th minute.

In the 15/16 season Mr Hooper refed three Fulham games, a 2-2 draw away against Reading, the 4-1 home win against Rotherham and our 3-2 away defeat at Sheff Wed. In all he booked one opposition player and six Fulham players.

Mr Hooper last refed a Brighton game three weeks ago when they won 4-1 at home to Crystal Palace. He booked one Brighton player and three Palace players.

Last season he refed 32 games and dished out 111 yellows, an average of 3.5 yellows per game, and a well below average 1 red. So far this season he has refed 24 games, dished out 104 yellows, so an average of 4.8 yellows a game, and issued three reds.

His busiest game in recent times was the Newcastle vrs Chelsea game when he booked four Newcastle players and five Chelsea players finishing up with a second yellow for a Chelsea player in the 73rd minute. Newcastle won 4-1, only one of the goals came after the sending off.
