Samuel Barrott took up refereeing when he was 15 after an injury
while playing for Halifax Town Youth Team. The West Riding based official, made the step up from the National League list of Officials to the EFL at the end of the 2019/2020 season and then to the Select Group 2 in 2023/2024. He was promoted to the Select Group at the start of the 2024–2025 season.
Mr Barrott last refed a Fulham game in December 2024 when we beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge. He booked four players, three of them from the Fulham squad, Joachim Andersen, Antonee Robinson and Sasa Lukic, all for fouls. Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz scored for Fulham.
A year prior on 16th December 2023 Mr Barrott refed Fulham when we lost 3-0 away at Newcastle United. He red carded Raul Jimenez in the 22nd minute for a foul and yellow carded two players, both from Fulham, Joao Palhinha (70,f) and Bobby De Cordova-Reid (81,f). Fulham Manager Marco Silva was not happy.
Mr Barrott refed Fulham on 7th October 2023 when we beat Sheffield United 3-1 at The Cottage . He booked Joao Palhinha for a foul and two United players while Bobby Decordova-Reid and Willian scored Fulham's goals.
In August 2021 Mr Barrott refed a Fulham game for the first time when we won 2-0 away at Birmingham in the League Cup in August 2021. He booked two players, both from Fulham, Michael Hector and Joe Bryan for fouls. Jay Stansfield and Antonee Robinson scored Fulham's goals.
Mr Barrott last refed Brighton in November 2024 when they beat Man City 2-1. He booked three players from each team.
Last season, 2023/2024, he refed 43 games and dished out 133 yellows and 3 reds, so 3.1 yellows per game. So far this season he has refed 21 games and issued 95 yellows, so nearly 5 yellows a game, and no reds.
The busiest recent game for Mr Barrott was Southampton vrs Liverpool
at the end of November this year when he booked four Liverpool players and three Southampton players.
