Referee Tony Harrington began refereeing in the Teesside Junior Football Alliance at the age of 14 years old, having completed the basic referee course whilst at school as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award.
After 4 years as an EFL Assistant Referee and 4 years as a National League Referee Tony was appointed to the EFL referee list in 2012/13 and has now refereed over 100 EFL matches. He is now part of the elite Select Group 2 of full-time referees to officiate at Championship matches.
The last time Ref Harrington bossed Fulham was in the 1-0 away win at Blackburn Rovers on February 8th 2020. Mr Warrington only boooked one player, Bobby De Cordova-Reid (f) of Fulham.
Prior to the Blackburn game Ref Harrington last refed a Fulham game in February 2018 in our promotion year when we beat Aston Villa 2-0 at the Cottage. He booked one player from each side the Fulham player was Stefan Johansen for a foul in the 67th minute. Ryan Sessegnon and Floyd Ayite were the goal scorers.
He also refed the
1-0 home win against Birmingham in the December. He booked two players one from each side, the Fulham player booked was Oliver Norwood.
He started the season with Fulham earlier in September 2017 when we drew 1-1 at home to Cardiff and seven players were booked, four from Fulham, Mollo (29,arg), McDonald (70,f), Johansen (71,f) and Button (82,tw)
Mr Harrington last reffed Leeds United on the 1st February 2020 when they lost 1-0 at home to
Wigan and he two players both of Wigan..
Last season he refed 31 games and dished out 103 yellows and 3 reds, so an average 3.3 yellows per game. So far this season he has refed
29 games and issued 74 yellows, so a low average of 2.5, and 3 reds.
His busiest game in recent times was the game between Leeds v Preston game in August 2018 when he booked three Leeds players, five Preston players and also sent a Preston player off in the 29th minute. Preston still went on to win 2-0.
