Fulham and Sporting CP are chasing Panathinaikos and Greece defender Georgios Vagiannidis, sources have told Football Insider.
Fulham were keen on signing a new right-back in the January transfer window – and they are set to bring in one in the summer, with 23-year-old Vagiannidis on their list of targets.
The likes of Ajax, Zenit and Botafogo all made offers for Vagiannidis in January, but the player decided to stay at Panathinaikos.
Sporting are keen to steal a march on their rivals in the summer by placing a €10million offer for the full-back.
Fulham are also firmly in the race for Vagiannidis’ signature and could formalise their interest in the off-season.
The 23-year-old, who came through the ranks at Panathinaikos, was bought by Inter Milan in the summer of 2020 before returning to the Greek giants a year later.
He has made 30 appearances across all competitions this term, starting in 24 of those outings – and notching two goal contributions.
Vagiannidis has played for Panathinaikos in Europa League qualifying and the Uefa Conference League this term.
The right-back made his senior Greece debut in September 2024 and has now racked up three caps.
Premier League side Fulham currently have right-back duo Timothy Castagne and Kenny Tete on the books at Craven Cottage – but the latter is out of contract in June.
