Fulham have made an opening offer of around £8m for Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic.

The Serie A side are reportedly close to sealing a deal for Verona midfielder Ivan Ilic, which will allow 26-year-old Lukic to make his way to London.

Marco Silva's Fulham side are flying this season and find themselves seventh in the Premier League just after the halfway point in the season.

Lukic is a Serbia international who featured for his country at the World Cup in Qatar last month. He is set to sign a deal at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2026, according to reports in Italy.

He can play either as a No 6 or a No 8 as Silva looks to find competition for his midfield trio of Andreas Pereira, Harrison Reed and Joao Palhinha.

Lukic has three goals and one assist in 18 appearances for Torino this season.

The long-serving Torino star has less than 18 months remaining on his contract and therefore a new challenge may appeal.

Lukic has told Torino he wants to join Fulham amid the Whites’ push to seal an £8million deal for the Serbia midfielder.

The 26-year-old would relish linking up his compatriot and Serbia teammate Aleksandar Mitrovic at Craven Cottage, Standard Sport understands.

Lukic has been at Torino since 2016, and featured in all of Serbia’s matches at the Qatar World Cup. The versatile midfielder has the work rate to feature in a holding role, but is often deployed further upfield.
