West Ham have issued a complaint to the Premier League alleging Fulham have "tapped up" Ravel Morrison.
The club have been angered by comments made on Tuesday by the Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen after his side's win over Norwich - Meulensteen telling reporters that an initial bid for Morrison had been "knocked back", but that a higher offer may follow.
Meulensteen, who worked with Morrison at Manchester United, said: "We will review it and move on. He does want to come here. I've known him obviously for a long, long time but the thing is this - we have to wait and see."
Meulensteen said Morrison would add "youthfulness, energy, unpredictability, attacking strength" to his team.
A formal West Ham complaint would prompt a Premier League investigation. Morrison has 18 months remaining on his current contract.
