How come two lowly teams of no consequence in Leicester and Manchester United get preferential air time, when better teams like us are pushed to the back. Talk about bias.

Just watched the Fulham vs Spurs game on MOT2. Five minutes of analysis 99.9% talking about Spurs, no mention of the two superb goals.

I'm really angry about tonight's MOTD2, and all I heard on the summing up by the experts, like that useless manager Rooney, was that Spurs put out a weakened side. No mention, that we were also missing a few of our players, and as pointed out, no mention how well taken our goals were. If, and it's a big if, we won the FA Cup, it would be that we were so lucky, and our opponents had an off day. It would be great to have a Fulham v Brighton final, but it will probably be Man City against Forest.

I saw in the week some reference to Spurs in fact being the most successful club in the League. That is, in terms of profitability, not trophies won recently. But the big fee they made from the sale of Harry Kane doesn’t seem to have been invested as well as the reinvestment Fulham made from the sale of Mitro, because Fulham are playing better than Spurs, maintain a superior position in the Premier League, and are still in the later stages of the Cup. Though it must be acknowledged that Spurs had a lot of players out today, I do wonder if its a vital skill within any club to acquire, train and play a team that is less likely to become injured. When one considers the size of transfer budgets, bidding for players during the window whose fitness and playing style mean less injuries, and then using medical tests most effectively, are increasingly important issues. Marco Silva is good at selecting and maintaining squads of fit players.

Honestly' i have never seen a better goal than that one from Muniz it was sublime and brilliant! Okay' he doesn't score a hatful but the goals he has scored so far have been picture-book Roy of the Rovers stuff. The second Muniz came on he was a nightmare and defenders just find him a difficult costomer to handle. If Muniz had scored 15 by now he would have been more in demand and it may have been difficult to keep him. Muniz is quickly becoming a cult hero and his name is chanted all around the Cottage now. The look on Hugh Grants face lit up after our first goal for sure. Funnily enough i don't think that was a penalty against Bassey who did enough to put his shoulder across the ref was right no penalty. We need more from the middle with both Pereira and Smith Rowe in there for sure but it is not happening. Willian was his brilliant best and i thought his curler was in for sure. At age 36 he is still brilliant but we need more from the likes of Smith Rowe. Do let's here more from the 'Observer' who's name suggest he knows something about football?
Replies
All present and correct Owen. Agree with you regarding Muniz, he’s becoming very reliable. I personally have been impressed with some of his delicate layoffs. I’m not sure but I reckon his goals to minutes ratios must be some of the best in the league. The goals themselves can be things of elegance and highly skilled. On the question of ESR it really is disappointing that whilst he shows brief examples of his quality he remains very sporadic with his contributions. I hope very much that he will come good.

Observer, don't give up on ESR just yet, as he is a talented boy, and I'm sure that he will come good, but probably not until next season. Most of us, if not all of us would have booted Muniz out of our club by now, but Marco to his credit, must have had faith in him, and it is beginning to show dividends, as he is proving to be a really good striker. ESR, hopefully will justify Marco's faith in the long run so let's just wait and see.

We have a great partnership in Raul and Muniz. His partnership with Raul can probably last another season with Muniz getting more minutes. They compliment each other so well and as long as they are happy to share the shirt, not sure another striker is top of our priority for the summer. Muniz surprised many of us and he looks BIGGER, STRONGER, SMARTER and CALMER by the match. He BOSSED the Spurs defenders today! He's been patient and a fantastic dressing room character. I hope we renew his contract in the summer as it only has 2 years left.

Is muniz becoming our new mitro same sort of style such a likeable character seems to enjoy his football and ffc and the fans think we saw everything there today lovely touches from our samba boys suicidal defending two great goals last 15 minutes threatened to run riot spurs just. Fell apart could have scored five in that time ffc rampant from the minute muniz came on spurs could not contain him

Nice to see the support for Muniz here guy's after his iffy start for Fulham and i think he is aware more goals are needed from him. Every striker worth their salt wants to score 30 goals plus and not just our strikers, we need more and better assists for all our strikers. Big respect to Observer who is a long time supporter of Fulham and i think he might be the oldest on here. Observer' i hope we come through what is in front of us, starting with Crystal Palace and win the FA Cup which is more prestigious more than the Milk Cup, which Newcastle won today...

Maybe Marco should have played Sessegnon from the get-go and i think Sess deserves a longer stint in this team now. We doubted his fitness coming back to Fulham but poor Sess has not put a foot wrong, infact he has been brilliant and apart from his brilliant goals tally which is decent considering the lack of pitch time he has been good for us. Tottenham don't owe Sess anything and i think he should have celebrated that goal with gusto and pride for the badge and Fulham. a tap on the badge and a very muted celebration is not what we want to see considering that we gave him his debut and a backdoor back into Fulham.
Replies
Sess owes Spurs nothing. We are grateful that Spurs borrowed him for a few seasons and they paid us to do so. Two goals for him and six points for Fulham, how sweet is that?

looking at Spurs today we was miles better then them , playing in Europe in mid week really does show up in a teams performance it's seems harder now for a manager to raise the efforts from a team now even more so than we had our great run 15 years ago ,and looking at Liverpool at the moment they seem half asleep (to much football?)

At present, the game has all the hallmark of a 0-0 draw as neither team appear to have the ability to score. Despite having the majority of play we have not had a shot on goal apart the feeble attempt by Castange when he rolled the ball to the Spurs keeper. With all respect to Owen, I fail to see Smith Rowe as the jewel in the crown but more a lame duck marooned on an island. Unless Fulham improve considerably it will be typical for Spurs to snatch a winner. Muniz needs to come on very quickly.nm

Agreed Bigboy' Smith Rowe was a damp squib and he should have been taken off earlier than he was. Saying that i think Pereira wasn't much better and i would have hauled him off before Iwobi. Iwobi didn't have his best game but we are so reliant on wingers in this team it is astounding. We need more coming from the middle for sure but still a good win to finish off in style before the international break. Smith Rowe is clearly finding it tough out there and a serious lack of confidence is missing i think. Marco won't say that because of the price tag and he sanctioned the move. We will rest up and enjoy the break and go again. Marco will try again with Smith Rowe after the break, it is still too early to write him off. Rowe has some ability and the few goals he has scored are very good but he has to get in those areas where he can be effective. He is not the strongest on the ball and pace is not his strong front. Maybe a sitdown and a watch through past videos of himself might jog his memory...

How will Marco Silva set up against Spurs on Sunday dinner time is anybody's guess and we have plenty of very good options of players we can use depending on Marco's favoured tactics for this game. We have home advantage and knowing Marco he will want to take full advantage and press for a win and 3 points against a Spurs who had a good win in Europe but we have a few days rest ahead of them and we want to take that win at home. Ryan Sessegnon is a good shout and he will be chomping at the bit to prove to his old employers that he can play football and Marco could well set up with Sess to prove that. I sincerely hope he goes with Smith Rowe who didn't show up against a tricky Brighton and in between flashes of brilliance and bravery like he showed against Leicester for that stooping header of a goal. Smith Rowe was also more proactive and involved in that game especially in the second half for Iwobi and Fulham's second goal to wrap up a good away win. We need Rowe to be playing like this and i also harp back to that utd game when Smith Rowe came on for minutes second half. He didn't do much but he put in two nice curling killer shots on target and it was only the brilliance of Onana that kept out Smith Rowe. We want Smith Rowe to be more pro-active and i think with the combination of the game against Leicester which will take good movement and timing driving forward and taking chances with shots just outside areas will see the best from Smith Rowe. We know he is not the greatest of pace makers but a good eye and timing of clever movement can bring out the best of Smith Rowe. How do we get him to do all this? Only Smith Rowe can know this and he has proven it in spurts but not enough and we want more from him and i think his desire and wish is to bring more to the table. Our key asset is Smith Rowe and Marco's mission is to get him to play his best. Ryan Sess or Smith Rowe or both? How will Marco set up this one, we will soon know...

Fulham have been my team for a very longtime and consistency has always been our problem. A Plumber said to me I never bet on a Fulham result as one week they will beat Ipswich the next lose to Ipswich. On paper we should beat Spurs but the pressure is on us start winning to get into Europe, but perhaps that is a demotivator, fear of the future. Spurs like Man United look very ordinary but is the very ordinary team we struggle to beat. I think an attitude of easy to beat do not have to works so hard and that does not work. There are not bad teams in the Premier League only less good ones. Marco must know what is happening and must convince the players they are wrong.

The problem with the game is a physiological one as the players believe Spurs will be easy to beat so they do not have to work as hard as they do against better teams. Marco must keep trying to convince them it will be as difficult to beat Spurs as it is Liverpool. Premier League team are all full of players that can win games that Fulham have to stop scoring and have players that can stop us scoring. We must play at our best or we will not win. It is very basic it but a lot of the players do not seem to get it.

There was not a home win in the Premier League in today's games, so can we buck the trend, and beat Spurs tomorrow. A win tomorrow will be so important, as with Bournemouth surprisingly losing to Brentford, we can jump two places in the table. Saying that it will be Fulhamish to lose this one, when on form, we should win the game.COYW

In December, 1999 I stood on the terraces watching us play Spurs in the League Cup when Kevin Keegan was our manager. We had bought Geoff Horsefield, known as “Horse”, after his prolific goal tally for Halifax. He was not your average centre forward, only 5’ 10”, but he was a sturdy bustling player and a hard as nails Yorkshire lad. The Fulham fans had really taken to him and despite taking serval hefty challenges he made Sol Campbell look like a cart horse. Barry Hayles, another Fulham favourite, opened the scoring after 10 minutes but Spurs equalised just before half-time. However, almost straight from the kick off, Wayne Collins restored our lead. Fulham dominated the game and with Horse playing wide, as Hayles was our centre forward, Fulham crafted an excellent team goal when the ball was finally passed to Horse who cut inside and beat their keeper with ease. However, the memorable thing about this game was it was being muted that Keegan was going to be the next England manager. All through the game the Fulham fans were shouting”Horse for England, Keegan for Fulham”. Whilst Keegan did become England’s manager Horse did not make the team. Horse help us gain promotion to the First Division and we then sold him for a record fee to Birmingham who he help reach the final of the League Cup and the following season help them gain promotion to the Premier. I am sure many of you will will remember the game and that wonderful guy Horse.

Having watched a few Champions league games this week, I am concerned the Premier league are losing ground to the top teams in Europe. The quality of strikers in the Premier league are now way behind that of the big clubs in Europe. In the PL, we only have 2 world class strikers - Haaland and Salah. but both have their issues. Salah is aging and Haaland is a one trick pony. Look at the forwards in PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona. They are young, hungry, fast and ridiculously technical. Not only that, their defence (like PSG and RM) have improved massively on previous years. I am worried. With the money, PL will always be one of the best leagues in the world but for how long as we are not attracting or creating the world class strikers!
Replies
some of the players on display for Real, Bayern etc, are not playing week in week out in a tough league and as proved this season which has been great with some unfashionably clubs having a go ,the great Barcelona side never really had an out and out centre forward but they still get plenty of goals they are just better player's that don't seem so washed up due to an easier season

I am very concerned that this Sunday's game against Spurs will be a lose-lose game for Fulham. If we lose, we can kiss goodbye to any chance of Europe. If we win, we could be kissing goodbye to Marco. Spurs are looking for a new manager and if you believe the press, Marco is at the top of their list. Beating them this weekend will only re-affirming to Daniel Davy that Marco is the man! So is it a winless game for us the Fans??! I still hope we win anyway!
Replies
Spot on John C. But wouldn't Marco be a fool to go to Spurs! While Spurs have the Daniel Levy influence, it would not be long before Marco is also on the nose. You would have to ask yourself how a club can go through so many quality managers time and time again. So we may as well take the 3 points if possible. I am confident Marco will stay at Fulham After his Hull and Everton experiences, even silly money won't entice him.

Because Brighton are my nearest club, and most of my friends around are Seagulls supporters, I came in for a bit of stick after Saturdays result, but I did hand it out when we won at CC, so I suppose fairs fair. My neighbour is a ST holder at the Amex, and he said that he had a clear of the penalty, and he admitted that it was a bit soft. However, as far as I'm concerned, like so many games this season, we have dropped points, whilst being ahead, and although it doesn't effect our position in the table hugely, we must stop this nonsense if we take the lead in the FA Cup, against Palace, or in the semi's if we make it. Marco, and the coaches really must change this losing games from leads habit next season.

As usual 6min of extra time means ten if the home team are losing,as for reed , he reminds me of a wrecking ball that some times makes contact were he should not.but again not a chance in hell getting in europe to many point dropped by being just sloppy, not enough on the bench its so light weight if you lose a couple of players we are in trouble and so revert to five back line three c/b nah !!!! dont work on a fast moving team ,so with our run in we will be mid table and make a couple of million place money and then look at players for three months just thinking about them but buying ???? iffy question that coyw . see our ex hatchet man got a straight red for munich.

Pedro went in like a bull in a China shop looking for the penalty as soon as he wedged himself in between our players of course contact occurred and he leapt like a salmon into an incredible dive the CHEAT. I was timing the added five minutes and by my watch the penalty was awarded well after the announced 5 minutes of overtime. I agree with another poster on this board who said a klaxon should go off after the announced time ending the game. The referee even had the cheek to restart the game after the penalty to make it look like he hadn’t allowed too much overtime and blew up at nearly 10 mins of overtime. I’m surprised Marco didn’t mention it in his post match interview.

Having watched the game, albeit on a large television, I turned to my wife and said it was not a penalty. Pedro came from behind and barged his way between Harrison Reed and Andersen and took a knock in doing so and immediately fell to the ground. I have watched the replay six times and if you do likewise, you will also note Smith Rowe’s reaction in waving his finger and shaking his head immediately clearly indicating what he thought. In my opinion, Pedro took a dive and conned the referee. It would be interesting to find out how often Pedro has gained penalties. My second point, which I have mentioned on a number of occasions this season, is referees always playing longer than the allotted stoppage time. Five minutes stoppage time was announced which should mean five minutes not 8 or 10 which referees have been allowing when the home side is seeking another goal. I suggest the F.A. Should introduce a klaxon to signify the end of stoppage time whereby the referee must blow for time. Thirdly, Harrison Reed is no longer a Premier League player and is a liability. I agree with Owen that Cairney should have come on as substitute in order to slow the game down and his ability to pass the ball out of defence. Once again, some of the players did not perform to their capabilities when we were the better team in the first half.
Replies
It looks like a penalty to me under the present regulation. No matter how much or how little Reed touched him it is a penalty, the fouled player throwing himself down is the norm, our players would do it in the same circumstances.

AB, yes a penalty was given but the foul was contrived by Pedro who barged between two Fulham players and was caught by HR heel as he attempted to clear the ball. I refereed for 35 years and having watched the incident 6/7 times I am convinced it was a self inflicted foul.it might be useful, if anyone has the time, to check to see how many times Pedro has earned penalties for Brighton.

Didn't you just know that would happen in the dying seconds? No need for Reed to poke his 'nose' 'er' his foot in because the ball was drifting out towards right anyway no need whatsoever! I am not the manager but i just think that the introduction of Tom Cairney might have nullified the onslaught of our own making i must say. Why must we give the ball away from a clearance time and time again i don't know. Yes we miss Lukic today and i think Berg needed him more. I commented on Castagne and his vulnerability to pace and quicker players and i think Garnacho last week would have given him a more torrid time if he had 90 minutes. Again i think Castagne is found wanting and we need Tete back asap. It is easy to single out Diop who panics in a clearance by kicking the ball anywhere in the middle of the park to bring on more pressure that we don't need. The more of the ball Brighton had would be only a matter of time before they made a breakthrough. As much as i like the combative Harrison Reed i just think that his introduction was not needed or helpful against a Brighton that are dangerous on the ball and we didn't help ourselves by giving it back to them when we have it. I hate the game stats that say Brighton had more of possession than we did and they are not Liverpool. Just annoyed for giving them 3 points when they don't deserve it today. Just chalk this one of and move on. Smith Rowe needs to do more, much more

I thought we were defending very for the whole game apart for two disastrous mistakes that gave the game to a team we had not allowed to have many chances. We score a brilliant goal then gave them the game. Very sad, another match we must learn lessons from before it is to late. One point, what is the point of playing three center halves when we only have one wing back?

Two of the softest goals of the season. This was as bad or worse as the West Ham throw-in. Another point dropped. Diop was worse and worse as the game wore on - so slow-footed.

That wasnt a point dropped, it was 3 points given to our closest rival. I agree your point about Diop but he only plays ocassionaly and is not renound for his ability on the ball. What does concern me is the negativeness of Berge. Apart from being asleep he slowed down every single counter attack that went through him.

Why didn’t the referee blow up after he announced 5 mins of extra time and 5 mins was played. That is unacceptable there’s no point in the referee announcing how many minutes he’s adding on if he intends allowing the game to go on until the home team scores. He should have realised he had played more than the allocated 5 minutes and not given the penalty the commentators said the player went looking for it anyway. Then he tries to justify the extra extra minutes by allowing the KO after the penalty and play to resume. He may as well have allowed another 5 minutes. Making it 15 extra minutes in total.

Although we like to think that we are going to win or draw every match, we just don't, and neither, apart from Liverpool, do any other clubs in this very competitive Premier League. Yes, today's result was very disappointing, but it's a case of we must take it on the chin and move on. We have v a difficult set of fixtures coming up, and we must hope that a couple of injuries to some major players are healed soon, and more important at this stage, we can see off Palace in the FA Cup quarter final, and we must forget trying for a European spot, as we haven't at present, a strong enough squad, but it will happen soon.

Another set of points thrown away. How can a player have so much time and be unmarked to equalize, and then the 96 th minute penalty, schoolboy stuff. Too many misplaced passes and second to balls. Diop didn’t have a great game, but at times put under unnecessary pressure by dodgy balls (Leno, Anderson etc). Brighton were there for the taking, and as per usual one goal not enough. Robinson was bad today, not only Diop, but too many ineffective and lack lustre. Hopefully we can turn over Spurs next week, but they are below us in the league…..

An extremely cagey first half more akin to a game of chess with both teams failing to carve out any real chances. However, after 35 minutes Iwobi raced sixty yards down the right flank and crossed to the far post where Raul, despite close attention of two defenders, chested the ball down and volley past the keeper. Six minutes later Brighton equalised through van Hecke who was allowed to run unchallenged to score with a fine header. The second half will be testing and we desperately need another goal.

When leaders of major nuclear powers , feel it is ok to hurl abuse, threaten repercussions as a way forward, without this respect leaves us all less safer. My previous post was a gentle note to a Brentford fan suggesting that they had exited the FA Cup. But I do hope that if we can't win the cup then Bournemouth, Crystal Palace or Brighton can, this new name on the trophy, will give their supporters as much joy as me if FFC could win it.

Agree - 100% for freedom of speech and right to voice your opinion, so long within the decency and due respect boundary. Sadly, I think Trump has taken the freedom of speech to a new level and a very dangerous one for someone with such power. Equally, while Trump has taken the right to say what he likes, he dislike anyone else doing the same, especially if their opinion is not in his favour. Only socialists ban things, it helps keep the gravy train on track. Socialism is basically a pyramid scheme and they eventually run out of victims they can milk dry to keep it going which results in them losing an election or, in the land of Johnny Foreigner, a bloody revolution. The British have always been too complacent to revolt and likely never will because they’re a dying breed.

First of all let me congratulate the team on holding their nerve in the penalty shoot out with Leno finally guessing the right way to dive in saving United’s last two penalties. However, at half-time I posted it was a boring game only brightened by Bassey’s brilliant goal, almost a replica of his previous one. The second half we conceded the initiative to United with Fernandez scoring with a great volley following a cross from the left flank. Generally, the game then lapsed into another period of boredom with neither side prepared to lose it rather than trying to win it. The extra time followed a similar pattern despite my shouting continually at the television screen to no avail. I felt that too many of our players not putting in a decent shift with the exception of three or four of our players. Both Traore and Iwobi failed to inspire although, the former did managed to make a few decent crosses. Smith Rowe, apart from one decent shot left me wondering why we paid £30 mln for him as I have seen little evidence ,so far, that this was justified. It is just my opinion and no doubt many of you will disagree. After another 30 minutes torture, with my dinner perched on my lap due to my wife forgetting about extra time, I suffered a death by a thousand cuts fearing a penalty shoot out which we could not possibly win. Having finished my dinner, I took up a defensive position behind the settee with my cat perched on my shoulders to keep me posted on what was happening. The first six penalties were expertly dispatched with Willian being coolness personified as he casually rolling the ball home. Then Leno became a hero, especially for those hardy supporters who had travelled up to the stadium of dreamsI, when he went the right way to save the fourth penalty. It was then that my cat leapt from my shoulders and hid herself on the floor which indicated that Robinson had been nominated as Fulham’s next penalty taker. My wife came into the room to see why a deadly silence had descended from myself and my cat when she looked up at the television to see Robinson standing over the board. She let out a scream and fled the room. Now, ever since we acquired Robinson, I have only seen him hit a shot over the crossbar and could not believe that he had been nominated as a penalty taker. What appeared a lifetime we were greeted by a chorus from the Fulham fans acclaiming his name. Both of us popped our heads above the settee in time to see the replay of the penalty which Robinson, with all the confidence in the world, calmly placing the ball into the corner of the net. With everything riding on the shoulders of then fifth United penalty taker, he found the pressure too much and placed his kick, without conviction, which Leno had no trouble in saving. Relieved and elated I poured myself a wee dram and gave my pet a helping of her favourite food. At the end of the day I made Bassey my man of the match with Leno not far behind. Too many of our players failed to play to their ability and we will need to improve if we want to advance further and this is not negativity just being realistic.

Why the delay in the fa cup 6th round date?

The only day they can play all four matches on the Saturday because of other commitments of the Clubs. BBC and ITV are not keen on this idea. Watch this space. 11.30, 14.00, 16.30, 20.00 is possible. Our match being a London affair you can bet we would get the late slot.

Amorim is under real pressure at Man U but I remember years ago Arsene Wenger said ‘Never take over a bad team’. And Amorim should have remembered that. Thats why Slot has done well at Liverpool. Fulham fans moan because we don’t get much credit or mention in the press, but the press feature Man U because it’s just an accident waiting to happen. There’s too much pressure on their players, whereas Fulham players look to be just enjoying themselves. The spirit in the Fulham camp seems very high.

As long as our manager is not bribed to join them. When ever we get a decent youngster, player or manager they get bought for big money. What might save us this time is that Man U has overspent trying to buy success and are now in financial difficulties.

Over many many years, I have witnessed some remarkable displays by some great goalkeepers, including some of our own, but some of the saves made, by the Liverpool keeper Allisson tonight, defied logic, as they were incredible. Liverpool was so awful against PSG, but one touch by Harvey Elliot saw them coming away with an away win, and with their luck after being totally outplayed, the title is now a forgone conclusion.

Nothing to do with Fulham, I must admit, but I just thought that it might be of interest, to people who might appreciate a good showing from a good keeper whoever he played for. We often have discussions on this site, that don't effect our club by the way.

Leno allows us to win games we would not otherwise win, though less often now we have a terrific defence. Liverpool's keeper has to make lots of saves however as the opposition gave Liverpool no space and moved the ball from front to back quickly. It is not long before we play Liverpool again and I am sure Marco will learn from that. All good teams score late goals, by bringing on fast subs to take advantage of tiring defences.

Of course Craven is entitled to mention Allisson’s outstanding performance which kept Liverpool in the game and eventually won by the late goal. I see no problem discussing subjects of interest.
posted by bigboy4650 (Guest) - Thursday 06th March 2025, 9:51 PM

It is a football subject and of course acceptable. One of the difficulties of being a Fulham supporter is because we never win anything worth having it is tempting to have second team to support who do win things without usually admitting. Of course the point being made is if you keep the opposition from scoring, no matter how poor your midfield and striker are playing their is always a chance you can sneak a winner.

I would be very disappointed if we continue our cup run and end up loosing to Manchester City in the final. Even worse of course we end up being beaten by Preston in the Semi-final. I hope really that we get to the final and best who ever we play. That triumph follows finishing 3rd in the table. That is perfectly possible, but the possible is not always possible. We deserve glories luck as this Club has so little to boast about in its long history.

Last night showed the way to beat Liverpool, it is about time we started consistently beating a young and not very good Chelsea, Bournemouth are overperforming and we can either attack them or defend them off the pitch. I am as optimistic as I have ever been about such matches as this season we have been producing our best performance and getting our best results against the to teams. We will probably beat those three and lose to Southampton.

When Robbo stepped up before Willian i really thought this was it, over and out but Robbo picked his spot and scored one of the coolest penalty ever. We all expect Robbo to hit row Z when he lets one off. Was surprised when Zirkee missed and from hero in the last minute of our opening game and now zero, we are in dreamland with a home advantage against Crystal Palace who we owe one. Marco should know by now that we have to mix it up a bit after a win and it was a hard fought win against Wolves. Not many players bring their 'A' game after a tough away like that and Traore was pants in this one. Lukic i thought could have stayed on but Marco rang the changes and Smith Rowe i thought was unlucky with a clever pass shot Onana just got to it. I think that Pereira is better coming on as a sub and he reverts back to type with his usual ineffectiveness but he did manage to put one over which eventually landed to the excellent Bassey who put it away like a good forward would. Aren't we glad that there is no African nations to lose Bassey. Iwobi wasn't his usual self and he was one who Marco could have hauled off instead of Lukic for fresh bodies. Castagne is a big weakness down the right side when he comes up against quick guys like Garnacho who will roast him for dinner all day long and if we had lost it their winner might have come from that side but all this is say-so and history and the history books is saying that we are through to the next round to a rampant and in form Crystal Palace who soundly beat us at home last time out. Marco Silva did not have any answers against Palace but the cup match is a different game and i am confident that Marco will sit down and work out the puzzles of what went wrong against Palace and how do we beat them. Mateta who was a strong handful is out of action for Palace me-thinks and maybe this will help us to further progress even closer to that elusive Cup Trophy...

We have become efficient penalty takers. The technique of getting the keeper to dive then pushing it the other side works consistently. It is catch 22 for the keeper as he knows if he does not dive the penalty takers can slot it passed each side of him. His only chance is when he dives the taker is stupid enough to kick it the same way as Man U did.

A great win and we held our nerve better than Utd. As a matter of fact, Robbo took the 4th penalty after Willian's kick. I also was anticipating Robinson putting his effort into row Z and was pleased he didn't.

Well who expected us to win a penalty shoot out for a change, but the lads did it this time. I'm happy to have received a home draw, but Palace might be harder to beat than United, but we have score to settle with that lot. We didn't play to well against a poor United side, who can thank their keeper for going to extra time. My MOTM was Bassey, not nobody had a really bad game.

I do hope we finish above Newcastle in the table. What annoys me is the attitude that Man U deserve to be good because of their history. A boring first half with the ball spending too much time in the air and just as I was settling for a 0-0 half-time a touch of magic from Bassey. Tactically aware and running at speed he was the first to react to the bouncing ball to head home a brilliant goals almost a replica of his previous goal a couple of weeks ago. Fulham must not sit back and try to hold on Fiordland 45 minutes but show initiative and take the game to United. Another goal is needed.

If Marco is saying that, that is good enough for me. I won't deny a lack of confidence about this game and winning because Man Utd always seem to turn up like a bad penny as the saying goes but hey' in Marco we trust! Whatever team Marco puts out everyone will give it their best shot and that includes Smith Rowe if he passes fit. To be honest, players who were criticised one week always come back and have a good game the following week and that seems to be the pattern and normal now. You name them, Muniz, Traore, even Pereira, they all have bad days and good ones. One example of a player who is capable of delivering the most beautiful and sublime peach of a pass you only see in World Cups is Adama Traore and if he can buck the trend and bring his 'A' game again two games consecutively, the football world will raise an eyebrow and take notice. Adama Traore in a nutshell sums up a squad of players that have ability but don't always bring it to the table. It would be amazing if Traore and all players turn up and perform to the high standard against Wolves away, that is what we want to see. Marco Silva was appointed in July 2021 and it is amazing and a surprise that his enthusiasm for the job is still high. The norm for most managers these days is two or 3 years and then burn-out they are sacked! If anyone can pull off an unlikely away win against one of the jammiest team that score late goals and break hearts, Marco is your man. What will it take to pull this off tomorrow afternoon? It will take a monster monumental effort away again and every player to turn up two weeks in a row. In Marco we TRUST.!!!!!!!
Replies
He can prove it by putting out what he considers his best team and overpower Manchester United, which we are perfectly able to do. The players must remember they are Manchester United, not a poor team in the bottom half of the table, who have won this cup many times. A lot of the trouble though came from Trump's sidekick Vance, who seemed to stir up trouble in both meetings. Even Trump seemed to follow what he said, like a lapdog.

Problem is those chaps lolling in 4 star hotels are likely to have the same alcohol and drug issues as seemingly most of the russian army has, can't see any point sending them. Rather have them do something useful like picking up litter.

Jim did not sound very well on the Wolves commentary, I hope it was flue or something like it and not a more serious problem.

As many of you know, I did not exude confidence before the match but I was proved wrong in a match which was straight out of Alice in Wonderland. In actual fact I missed the first goal as I was busy pouring a cup of tea. However, I was in time to see the replay and was amazed at the simplicity of the movement. Pereira found Sessegnon in a wide position on the left flank, with a delightful pass which he collected in his stride, cut inside calmly shooting across the keeper into the far corner of the net. The coolness of the move, and the calmness of Sessegnon were a joy to behold. Wolves duly equalised but Fulham had a couple of chances but failed to capitalise on their early goal, timed at 59 seconds. With the score level at half-time the doubts once again flooded my brain as Wolves were still very much in this game and how many times have we conceded goals in the second half. Within seconds of the kick off Traore hit a wonderful pass inside the defender which Muniz, running at speed collected in his stride and with the keeper rushing out he calmly dinked the ball over him to restore our lead. I am willing to bet that these two Fulham goals were the quickest from the kick offs ever recorded in the Premier Division. However, the second half saw Wolves in the ascendancy but our defence were magnificent thwarting most of the attacks, mostly skilfully but occasionally with an outstretched leg. It was a long 45 minutes but riveting to watch. Once again our supporters were in fine voice encouraging our players to give that bit extra. Interestingly, Marco make several changes following our abysmal performance against Palace and I was pleased to see Sessegnon once again enjoying himself and justifying his selection. Despite Muniz getting man of the match, for me it was a great display of teamwork and any one of half a dozen players could have won the award. Even Andersen had a good game but unfortunately, we have now lost the services of Lukic for two games having accumulated ten yellow cards. In future, I will leave forecasting to the eminent Soothsayer.

Marco's most clever move was to mirror the Wolves formation which gave us lots of space on the wings and four players to exploit it. Wolves tried to exploit the wings as well but did not have four players of the class of ours. The most splendid thing was the five changes made did not in any may make us look worse, in fact most of the so called reserves had brilliant games. We have a squad ousting with glass, one of the best in the Division thanks to Marco's great skill in improving players beyond recognition.

TTIN,I agree but at the end of the day it is down to the players to implement his plans. If some of the players don’t feel up to it on the day then plans go awry. This has been particularly noticeable in our games against Palace, Wolves, Southampton and Ipswich.

Just musing if Palhinha wants to come back to the premier league - should we take him back? Bayern Munich would probably accept a 50% lost on him so he could be available for say £25m. Should we consider if opportunity arises to sign him back? Berge and Lukic are doing great but we don’t have a decent backup, and Reed is probably not the same level. So I’d take him back for next season if he’s available.

Tailgater, most parents try to instill manners in their children and teach them how to behave. I am sure your parents were no different but once children leave home some forget how to behave. You prove the case. In addition, it is a criminal offence to be a tailgater so perhaps you will have your collar felt in the near future.

The way Berger and Lukic are player I am sure how our ex player would get in the team. The number of yellow cards he gets considerably reduces his value.

Palhinha will be at least 30 when new season starts , was brilliant first season with us not as good second. Berge and Lukic playing well why pay 25m for him must be younger players about. He would only be squad player we’re better now move on

It's quite surprising that all of our winning scores in February were by the score of 2-1. I am hoping that March will start with a similar score line. Or am I being too optimistic ?

A few 2 0, 3 0 and 4 0 would be nice. If we win most of our remaining fixtures we will finish very high in the table. That is perfectly possible and most acceptable.

Funny game innit? we put 3 c/backs in and you think ,is this a good idea, but it turned out a very good idea , well done marco it came of , so chuffed for sess he needed that ,well taken no panic just sublime, thought we would go under at wolves buy the odd goal but no, we weathered the game very well now for utd but here we go watch some one score in 100 minute, then we miss a penalty in 110 minute, still think euro is step to far to many teams around us all looking for the last spot , goal diff may come into it but think our run in is to tough .

Marco is a brilliant tactician, it does not always work, but most of the time is does. The Palace game was defeat was to team who now looks as if they can beat anyone now.

40 years of hurt distinguished in two world class minutes wipes the Palace defeat from memory. Great tactics by Silva and how good do Sess, Muniz and Traore look now? Shame pereira forgot to track back for their goal but a good performance from him outside of that. Well done Marco and well done Fulham.

The players who scored the goals were not playing on Saturday. Muniz is looking a real talent at last and Sessegnon is near to his best under Marco's encouragement. The win last night are the ones you must get if we are going to be come a team reaching for honours rather than stopping getting getting relegated. Even the top team have days when they do not play so well.

So glad to see Traore and Muniz starting to realise their potential and reward Marco’s faith. So pleased for Ryan, it’s been a tough few years for him, hope they are over. Now Man U, who surely can’t get off the hook again.

Palace are in great form and they are proving tough to beat. Who could have imagined a 4-1 win for Palace against Villa? That is a thrashing in my eyes and i think we should stop now beating ourselves up at the loss to them. 2-0? We look to have improvements in this team now going forward. Sessegnon has always had that control and psychic for running into those areas at the right time. This is not something you learn from a manager and if it was every Fulham player would be doing it every week. Muniz scored one of quality and it was a peach of a build up and pass from Traore. The only problem is i think Muniz knows he is decent and he now has a swagger about him which tells me that sooner or later he will want more and he is ambitious. We could have a problem keeping him just saying...

TTIN, sometimes such as the Summer break, news is in short supply and there is no harm in introducing a debate on other subjects which are serious enough and pertain to events which affect the majority of us. Personally, I am tempted to discuss the deranged views of Trump, Vance and Musk who are screwing Ukraine by making them to repay for the aid provided by the previous administration. Just as the UK had to pay for equipment during World War 2 which took us 50 years to repay. Unfortunately, I neither have the time or inclination to express my feelings towards the present incumbent of the White House. Just saying.

During the short summer break we can fill this site with players purchase and sale rumours as wild as we like. This would be far more fun than talking about the grim getting grimmer current affairs.

Marco is so good at making ordinary players play like brilliant ones. The disadvantage of this is other clubs will seek our best players in the summer. To counter this we have become very much stronger in keeping players here but we also have a fantastic buying team who will find good players to replace any that leave. The main problem is if we get into a European competition we will need a larger squad so we will need to anticipate what we earn from the competition to pay for them. It is all very complex but the Club has become excellent in many ways to fully support an excellent manager.
